As mentioned in “About The Author” I have been on a continuous journey to remain healthy and broaden my knowledge since losing 100 pounds six years ago. At times, this has been a struggle for me, because I truly am “Fat at Heart,” and I was brought up to enjoy foods of all kinds, whether they be sweet, salty, or greasy. After achieving a degree in Nutrition and Food Science, I knew it was time for me to spread my passion for health to as many people as I could. In doing so, I have found that many people are nervous to begin a quest to live and eat healthier because they think that they will have to give up all of their favorite foods forever. This blog is designed to encourage people at all levels of health to embrace a healthier lifestyle without fear of failure or giving up foods you love. I have found that one of the hardest times to eat healthy is when eating out at a restaurant or event. As I continue to explore Portland and the rest of the United States, I will post reviews of healthy and delicious restaurants that I encounter along the way, as well as suggestions for healthy meals at each restaurant and pictures of the meals I choose. I also intend to post healthy recipes that I use personally and that I learn from others. Lastly, I will post articles that I find interesting or important on current nutrition, health, and exercise topics. I hope that my blog inspires you live a little healthier each day and gives you ideas to help you along the way to your own health goals.
